Tour to Cusco - Machu Picchu - Cusco 4d/3n![]() Cusco At a distance of 120 km (75 miles) from Cusco, in the Valley of the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu lies within the spectacular framework provided by the exuberant vegetation of the nearby jungle and the rugged landscape. The ruins are situated on the Eastern slope of Machu Picchu in two different areas: the Agricultural and the Urban ones. The latter includes the Civil sector (dwellings and canalizations), and the Sacred sector (temples, mausoleums, squares and royal houses). Although constructions show different levels of architecture, religious buildings exhibit a high degree of perfection. The constructions, often, were built with stones, and the roofs were built of tree trunks and thatched with "ichu" straw. This program was specially prepared for those who want to make their trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience by sleeping at a hotel nearby Machu Picchu, offering them the opportunity to return to the Citadel the next day early in the morning when white clouds cover the site and are evaporated as the sun rises gradually discovering the magical Machu Picchu in front of your eyes.
